ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in 2008, the Department of Computer Applications prepares students for careers in software industry, corporate sectors, and government departments. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills in computer applications and software development. The department has a computer lab with 30 well-configured systems and a 100 Mbps WiFi connection. The lab supports various programming and software tools used in the syllabus, helping students gain hands-on experience. The department facilitates skill development through online courses (e.g., CISCO) to stay updated with current technology. Specialized training programs in ICT and technical skills to enhance employability.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent and employable in
information technology (IT) and related sectors.
2. Provide students with the expertise required to plan, design, and build application software systems as well
as to support and maintain automated systems and applications.
3. Foster strong programming abilities and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills to
support both personal and professional growth.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Apply core IT concepts and techniques to provide solutions in IT and related sectors.
2. Maintain and support automated systems and applications.
3. Write efficient, maintainable code in one or more programming languages. Use ICT tools to enhance
productivity, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
