DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mathematics was established in 1999 and introduced as a minor program in 2023-2024. It focuses on developing students' logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum encompasses key topics such as algebra, calculus, geometry, and statistics. This program equips students with essential mathematical skills for various applications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Provide a solid foundation in the fundamental areas of mathematics, including algebra, calculus,

   geometry, statistics, and discrete mathematics.

2. Develop students' ability to reason logically and abstractly, formulate mathematical proofs, and

     approach problems analytically.

3. Enhance mathematical communication, both written and oral, including the use of mathematical

notation, terminology, and structure.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1. The program enables students to demonstrate core mathematical disciplines, construct and

evaluate mathematical proofs, and apply mathematical models to solve problems across disciplines.

2. Students will effectively communicate mathematical ideas and utilize technology tools for computations

    and data analysis.

3. This prepares them for applications in sciences, finance, and data science.`
