ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in 1999-2000, the Department of Zoology aims to empower women through quality education in life sciences. It provides foundational and advanced knowledge in zoology, promoting academic excellence and practical skills. Supported by well-qualified faculty, the department offers aligned infrastructure and curriculum. It organizes seminars on biodiversity, conservation, and public health.
OBJECTIVES
1. Impart foundational knowledge in biological sciences, focusing on animal diversity, physiology, ecology, evolution, and cell biology.
2. Develop practical skills through laboratory work, field studies, and project-based learning.
3. Promote biodiversity awareness and conservation, while encouraging critical thinking and scientific inquiry.
4. Prepare students for higher education, competitive exams, and careers in life sciences, research, education, and environmental management.
OUTCOMES
1. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of zoological concepts, including animal classification, anatomy, physiology, ecology, and evolution.
2. Apply scientific methods through laboratory techniques and field studies to investigate animal life.
3. Analyze ecological relationships and propose conservation-based solutions to environmental challenges.
4. Communicate scientific ideas effectively and utilize knowledge for careers in research, education, wildlife conservation, and allied sectors.
